Standings Update

The Atlantic Division continues to be one of the tightest within the playoff run (other than The Islanders). 4 of the teams are currently within the top 8 teams in the Eastern Conference with the lowest within the playoffs being the New Jersey Devils in 6th place. Other places are New York Rangers in 1st, Philadelphia Flyers in 4th, Pittsburgh Penguins in 5th and The New York Islanders in 13th place. The four teams in the playoffs all have good positions, so likely will make it, and so will most likely be the buyers this deadline.

15 Points

  • Grossman
Last night Philadelphia traded LAK 2nd and Min 3rd to Dallas Stars for defenseman Nicklas Grossman. Gets them some temporary help on defense for playoffs with Pronger out.

  • Nash to NYR?
Rich Nash has been rumored a lot lately especially with him releasing a list of teams he could be traded to which supposedly includes NYR. We all know how they love their big contracts.

  • New York Ranger record
New York continues to surge in the east as they have a 8-1-1 record in the last 10 games!

  • Henrik Lundqvist
Lundsanity continues to amaze as he has won 7 of his last 8 starts, and has 3 shutouts within those games for a total of 7 shutouts

  • New Jersey Devils to add Zidlicky
There has been much speculation that Zidlicky may be traded to the devils. This would make a lot of sense as the devils needs help on the blue line and Minnesota seems to have given up on Zidlicky

  • JVR for Schenn?
Of course with every deadline comes many crazy leafs rumors, on of which involves Schenn going to Philly for James Van Riemsdyk

  • Pittsburgh to add Hal Gill?
Hal Gill maybe returning to Pittsburgh for another stanley cup run. Would be a great depth pickup

  • Nabokov on the move?
Once again, more speculation as Nabokov has been said to be moved with Montoya doing so well and NYI having Dipietro

  • Travis Hamonic
Travis Hamonic has missed the last few games with a broken nose, however he should return soon

  • Ilya Kovalchuk
Kovalchuk continues to have a great season as he got 3 goals and 1 assist last game ti give him a total of 56 points in 51 games

  • NJD Injuries
Adam Larsson has missed his 6th straight with a bruised lower back, Ryan Carter has also missed his last 6 with a right hand fracture, Henrik Tallinder has been off since Jan 17th with a blood clot in his leg, was suppose to miss 6-8 weeks, and Zajac is suppose to resume skating sometime this week.

  • NYR Injuries
Fedotenko is day to day with an undisclosed head injury recieved on February 9th, and Sauer is still out indefinitely with a concussion

  • PHI Injuries
JVR still is out with a concussion, he is skating with the team, but it does not sound soon, Jagr is day to day with the flu, Briere left the game last night with an upper body injury, and so did Sestito with a lower body injury.

  • PIT Injuries
Big news, Crosby is out indefinitely with concussion like sympto....oh wait. that's old news, on top of that Asham is out with a concussion (but might return this weekend) and Despres is still out with his MCL injury and has had a minor set back

  • NYI Injuries
More Big News! Rick Dipietro is injured with a groin injury still! also Mottau is out indefinitly with a concussion, Reese will be out till mid march with a knee sprain and as I mentioned earlier, Hamonic is out with a broken nose, but could return at any time

Who To Watch

Hamonic and Asham - Both should return from injuries this weekend
Lundy - Hard not to watch him with his stellar play this season
Zidlicky - Highly likely that he will be moved to NJD
Nash - I don;t see him moving to this division, but possible
Nabby - Could be moving out, maybe to Detroit
